Carlo Latorre Extended Curriculum

Graduated in Physics at the Turin University, he joined Fiat Research Centre with the responsibility of the Non Destructive Testing Laboratory to support all the Fiat Sectors and other external companies. After this initial phase devoted to the Technical Services, he was in charge of research programs to develop innovative techniques for product characteristics and production process parameters control, e.g. as required for heat treatments and deep rolling of automotive components. A number of these new methods and devices was also patented.
In 1987 he joined Iveco S.p.A. extending his competences to the Company Organization and Quality System. As Project Leader he developed an effective processes based Quality System to improve and standardize the Service Quality of the Iveco Europe Dealer Network, seeking at the same time the ISO Certification. Starting from 1994 he was in charge of the “Processes and System” Department at the Iveco Central Quality. Under his responsibility it was defined and implemented the integrated Management System covering all the Company Processes, with the aim to improve Quality and decrease the poor quality Costs.
His experience was also focused to develop and apply specific methods for Process Management and techniques to manage Product Development, assuring product Reliability. Finally he held the position of the Company Management System Department Director at Iveco S.p.A., with also the responsibility to manage all the internal Technical Standards and to protect the intellectual property through the Patents Governance.
During the years 2007 - 2008 he was the Project Leader of Innovation Programs, such as to manage the Product Modifications through the Lean Design approach and especially to assure the Functional Safety of the Iveco Commercial Vehicles Electric/Electronic Systems, applying the ISO 26262 standard (at that time under development) and participating to the specific Italian ISO Working Group.
Co-founder of 4S S.r.l., he is the President. Inside this Company he especially manage the Business Solutions aimed to improve the maturity level of the Companies and to support the Functional Safety action area.
From 2009 to September 2013 he was the IATF (International Automotive Task Force) representative for ANFIA (Associazione Nazionale Filiera Industria Automobilistica) with the aim “to provide improved quality products to automotive customers worldwide”, especially developing the implementation of the ISO/TS 16949 management system requirements standard inside the suppliers companies.
He supports ANFIA as a consultant  and trainer for the Automotive Core Tools (D/PFMEA, MSA – Measuring System Analysis, etc.) and, since 2011, also as a Qualified Trainer for “VDA 6.3 – Production Process Audit”.
He is a Qualified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 of VCA – Vehicle Certification Agency (UK accredited Certification Body), a member of the steering committee of the Italian Association for Quality Culture – Automotive Sector (AICQ) and of the Italian Academy for Six Sigma (AISS).
